Three Generations. One Dream. Building India's Sporting Future.
The story of how a one-man workshop in 1955 Jalandhar grew into a full sporting ecosystem — skates, cricket, badminton, fitness, swimming, and more — trusted by athletes across five continents.
By Ranjit Singh
The first time I watched a child stand on a podium wearing skates made in our factory, I didn't see a product on their feet.
I saw my grandfather's dream crossing the finish line.
It Began in 1955, in a Workshop No Bigger Than a Garage
Jalandhar, Punjab. One man. One vision. No grand plans, no market research, no five-year strategy.
My grandfather, Sardar Dharam Singh, started by refurbishing wooden rackets by hand. He wasn't chasing scale or profit. He was chasing a single belief: Indian athletes deserved better equipment than what they were being given.
Seven decades later, that belief is still our operating system. Whether it's a quad skate, a cricket bat, a badminton racket, or a swim kit, everything Jaspo makes still has to answer to a man who's been gone for years, but whose standards never left the building.
Here's the truth about building something meant to outlast you, though: you can't do it alone.
The Backbone: Precision Behind Every Product
My brother, Pritpal Singh, CEO and Managing Director of Jaspo Sporting Pvt. Ltd., is the reason our family's dream has a spine.
While I spend my time imagining where Jaspo is headed next, Pritpal makes sure we actually arrive — intact, on time, and without cutting a single corner, across every single category we build in.
From quality control to product innovation to launch execution, every item that reaches an athlete has been battle-tested by him first. Nothing leaves our factory floor without clearing a bar he'd set for his own children.
That's how a brand promise gets kept in this industry. Not with a tagline. With discipline, repeated daily, for decades — whether we're building a helmet or a swim cap.
The Next Generation Isn't Waiting — They're Already Building
Here's what makes Jaspo different from a company that simply survives on inherited name-recognition: our next generation didn't inherit a business. They grew up inside the product.
Grandsons of Sardar. Dharam Singh— Manveer Singh, Manraj Singh, and Chiranjiv Singh — have used Jaspo gear since before they could spell "brand strategy." They're not our legacy plan. They're our sharpest quality filter.
When they test a new skate, a new pad, or a new piece of fitness equipment, the questions aren't about margins. They're:
- "Would an enthusiast actually wear this on the rink, or use this at the gym?"
- "Would my friends trust this enough to fall on it, lift with it, swim in it?"
They understand the modern Indian athlete because, quite simply, they are the modern Indian athlete.
Three generations. One obsessive question that hasn't changed since 1955:
How do we make Indian sports gear so good that athletes choose it — not because it's what they can afford, but because it's what they'd choose anyway?
"Go For It" Isn't Our Label. It's Our Mission.
For most brands, "Made in India" is a manufacturing detail buried in the fine print. For us, it's the entire argument.
Every skate, helmet, protective pad, Skateboard, cricket bat, badminton racket, and piece of fitness or swimming equipment that leaves our facility is a small, deliberate proof that Indian manufacturing can compete on the world's biggest stage- not someday, but right now.
Today, Jaspo products are trusted by athletes and academies across:
- Europe
- The United Kingdom
- Australia
- The Netherlands
- The United States
Markets where, a generation ago, an Indian sporting goods brand wasn't expected to show up at all — let alone compete.
We're not just exporting skates and cricket gear anymore. We're exporting belief in what Indian craftsmanship can do — across an entire sporting ecosystem.
We Don't Just Manufacture Equipment. We Manufacture Confidence.
The real scoreboard was never about units shipped.
It shows up in smaller, quieter moments:
- A coach telling us, "Your gear changed how my kids train."
- A parent who can finally afford proper equipment for their child, not a compromise.
- A young skater who stops flinching before a fall because the protective gear actually protects.
- A swimmer who trains with confidence in gear built to keep up with them.
Manufacturing, done right, isn't about output. It's about confidence produced, dreams protected, and talent given a fair shot- in every sport we touch.
Built for Every Athlete, at Every Stage, in Every Sport
Over seven decades, Jaspo has grown from a single-category workshop into a full sporting ecosystem. Today, our catalogue spans:
- Quad skates & inline skates
- Skateboards
- Helmets & protective gear
- Cricket equipment
- Badminton equipment
- Fitness equipment
- Swimming gear
- And many more sport categories, with new ones added every year
From a first-timer wobbling on skates for the first time to a serious competitor training for nationals — because access to quality gear should never be the reason talent gets left behind, in any sport.
An Invitation: Let's Build India's Sporting Infrastructure Together
To distributors, retailers, academy owners, and fellow believers in Indian sport:
If you think India's sporting ecosystem deserves world-class infrastructure — not imported, not compromised, but built here — let's talk.
If you've watched real talent get held back by inadequate gear, let's fix that. Together.
Because the next generation of Indian athletes shouldn't have to choose between their dreams and the equipment they need to chase them, no matter which sport they choose.
They deserve both.
And for three generations now, one family has woken up every morning to make sure they get it.
